Product Feature - Wetbags

I have been busy working on a wetbag design for a while now. It's taken me a while to pull my finger out on this one but at the beginning of the year I made one for Master 2yo to take with him to daycare so that they could put a whole days' worth of nappies in there to go home to be washed.

I have always designed my products on things that I cannot live without.

My nappies were designed to hold more wee than the other nappies I had tried with my son as he simply outwet EVERYTHING. They were also designed to be really simple to use and importantly, DAD FRIENDLY. I followed this with an All In Two design coming onto my site late last year to assist with the drying time of cloth nappies in Melbourne Winters.

My bibs were my son's clothing's saviour during the beginning of the self-feeding stage. As they covered so much more surface area than any other bib I had tried using!

Now back to the wetbags.... I LOVE THESE WETBAGS!! I seriously would be lost without them and definitely would be using far too many plastic shopping bags for my dirty nappies (very smelly as plastic shopping bags don't seal very well!).

The wetbag design works wonderfully and importantly, can be used whether I am out for 1 nappy change or for an entire day. I think that maybe they might be the most practically sized wetbag on the market (but then again I am very very biased!)

I send these off to daycare and they hang it on a hook next to the toilet in the nappy change area ready for the staff to put my son's dirty nappies in ready to be taken home to be washed at the end of each day and being a basic plain PUL fabric, the wetbag dries really quickly, so I can hang it out on the line, clothes horse, or even over the back of a chair to dry and in the morning it is always ready to go. I also have a cotton panel sewn on the front of my wetbag that I write my son's name on so that when the childcare is overrun with cloth  nappy users, they can tell who's is who's. (Enter the cloth nappy revolution I am ready!)

They are really easy to fold up and pop into your handbag as well which for me is always important, as I never take a nappy bag with me ANYWHERE anymore unless we are going out all day.

And speaking of all day...

I can go out for an entire day and the wetbag is always big enough. In the images above there are 7 small sized nappies inside the bag with enough room to fit one or two more in at a squeeze. So with nappy size being relative to how many nappies generally are used in a day (you go through more newborn nappies in a day as your newborn goes through more nappies than a toddler who might be wearing the large size) they are most definitely a must have for every cloth nappy user.

So now that the website is all stocked up, and ready to go be sure to head over and grab your essential weepantz wetbag and never carry around lots of little plastic bags again!

Something to brighten my day...

Firstly... Don't forget to bid on the auctions! Links over on the far right side bar!

You might remember that a little while ago, I found a button on the ground at the market... Not long afterwards, my sister came to visit me and turned it into a beautiful flower which I proceeded to leave on my bench... (I'm so very organised... :-| )

Anyway, I was tidying up yesterday and found it so I turned it into something to brighten up my sewing room...

I stuck some magnets to the back, and now it will sit on my order board :)

So it was a lovely little bit of improvisation that I will notice every day :)

(ps dont look at the brown bit, I may have spilled coffee on it...)

What is something you have improvised on that turned out to be something to brighten your day?

Oh so Green and Spotty

I made some of these up last year but never got around to posting them on the website, so as of today they are available to purchase online.

I am in love with this fabric. It is so soft, so fluffy and absolutely gorgeous.

These nappies are available in both the All In One & All In Two styles and all 3 of the WeePantz Sizes.

The inside of these nappies is made from microfleece, absolutely soft and droolworthy, as well as keeping your bub dry after they wet. And we have the usual WeePantz absorbency sewn into them!

Head over to my nappy information page if you require more info on how my nappies work or what is in them, it also outlines the difference between my AIO and AI2 nappies.

Market Prep Day...

Today is my final day of prep for the Fairy Floss Market in Doncaster tomorrow, so I am madly racing around between the many jobs I need to finish.

I have sewn together a bunch of AI2 shells and am currently overlocking the soaker pads. I am amazed at how much quicker it is to make an AI2 nappy, I definitely would be packing it if I had all AIO's to make before tomorrow!!

I am also racing back and forth from the fabric shelf... surely I can throw together one more designer combination before tomorrow right?? right???

We will see, I want to do some more unisex nappies as I feel like everything is pretty much girl or boy orientated.

Anyway, must get back to work, lots to do! lots to do! Make sure you head into the market tomorrow and have a look around, there are just the most beautiful products at this market, if anything, I just love going there to drool!!

Lady Bird Garden Bibs, some better photos!

I thought it best I update you guys with some better photos of the new bibs that I finished off last week.

They are a generous size, perfect for newborn babies (as a pop over burp cloth) right through until toddlers who are moving to the self feeding stage and measure a generous 25cm x 50cm (approx).

The head hole is very generously sized, and I find that even my big boof head nearly 2 year old can fit his head into and through the hole with no squeezing or tugging on my part and with the ribbing being so soft it holds the bib on without gaping, but also without choking your baby.

All of my bibs are 100% cotton and are backed with cotton terry towelling with the front being an absolutely gorgeous 100% cotton print.

To grab one straight away, simply click the button below, there are only 8 of these left!

If you don't have a little girl, but still like the look of my bibs, jump over to the shop and have a look at some of our other prints available in this style of bib!

Sew Up Wednesday.

The past few weeks I have been taking part in " "Sew up wednesday on Crafty Mamas on Facebook. This is the first time Ive actually blogged about it...

Last week was mending the gaping holes in Mick's work pants... really not that interesting!!

The week before... I cant remember... probably nappies... as with most of my crafting of late!

Today I have been cutting microfleece. Fun Fun... I also had some time to work on these new bibs. :)

Sorry for the camera phone image, I will get some new photos taken soon. If you would like to buy one of these beautiful new lady bird garden bibs, simply click the button below. :)

Also, don't forget to email about pre-ordering our new nappies too, they are nearly ready, there's no sense missing out!

Decisions Decisions. Some new fabric combos for spring!

Today I thought I would share with you all some of the fabric combinations I have decided on for my new spring colour range of nappies.

Note... all of these are girly combos. Boyish ones are to come, I always get stumped when it comes to boy things, but rest assured, there are boy things in the works, just no decisions made yet!!

As you can see, they are beautiful, bright and spring-ish. Is that even a word? I think I am adding to the dictionary today :p

Some nappies with these beautiful combinations will be heading off to our new stockist Tippy Toes Kids later in the week for their store opening.

Which is your favourite combination? and what would you like to see?

A Little Ray of Sunshine...

Here at our place we have been dreaming of being warm. (well at least I have!) We are looking forward to the icy weather leaving us and having some beautiful spring weather. I don't know if this year I am being extra sooky about the cold, but I really just can not wait for it to be over.

We had sleet yesterday... it was raining and I could see fine ice falling onto my back windows. VERY cold for late August!!

Anyway... In an attempt to make myself feel like spring, I have been sewing up some new nappies for the shop. So today's post is about all things YELLOW!! Now as per usual, my nappies all have a 4 x 450gsm bamboo soaker pad sewn in along with a gorgeous soft micro fleece interior to keep bottoms dry. All Images are of Small Nappies. For the sizing chart, click over here.

Firstly, the much anticipated Yellow Basics. They are just so bright :) As per usual with my basics range they have the plain PUL outer layer and then the usual nappy components as stated above. So it might be a "basic" nappy, but its definitely catching everyone's eye!

Yellow Minkee! I have a bunch of yellow Minkee here too, so I will be adding this as a Spring feature to the website, and sending off some to my new stockists. (which you will hear about tomorrow I think!) There's a hidden layer of PUL on this one to keep that wet stuff (and the messy stuff too) INSIDE the nappy :) Can't you just picture your little girl with this poking out from under her skirt? I simply can not resist a fluffy bottom so so cute!

And just for some boredom busting for myself, I made up 2 small ones of this nappy on Saturday. It is made from scraps so there wont be any more of this nappy in the very close future. So snap it up straight away I say!!
This nappy is super fluffy with the giraffe Minkee around back/wings section and is beautiful and bright with yellow Minkee for the main colour. Better watch out too, Master Olly has his eye on this one. Its too small for him, but he keeps attempting to steal it from the box, and also kept taking it when I was photographing it. Its the perfect little boy fluffy bottom nappy :)
I am simply in LOVE with yellow at the moment. Can you tell? It is reminding me of warmth, sunshine and beautiful flowers! And my addiction to nappies is evident with the amount of beautiful fluffy stuff that is being produced at the moment. Although, there's nothing wrong with being in love with cloth nappies I reckon, much better for the planet, and so much more comfortable for babies than a plastic one!

I will have these nappies in the shop as of tonight. I am doing a bunch of website revamping today along with finishing off costumes for my darling daughter's very FIRST calisthenics comp so make sure you stay tuned, listings should be up by 8.30 :)

Edit... okay so feral kids and a flat camera battery means they will be up tomorrow. :)

Meet Betty!

Oh yes, the lame same initial as the animal names continue as I introduce you today to Betty Butterfly.

Now for starters, we wont judge Betty for her wrong way facing body, because alas, that was my fault. :p When Betty makes it onto some WeePantz Nappies next week she will be facing the right way. But here is a lovely sneak peek.

Now... back to opening that package that arrived 2 minutes ago, It should be PUL :-p and just in time too!
