Something to Keep Him Warm

Well Oliver seems to get left out of the sewing expeditions a fair bit as I love all those girlie fabrics and skirts and dresses so much! But I made the decision to make him a jacket as I couldn't justify the prices on all of the ones I liked!

So here is the end product.... I have never made a jacket before so the sewing was sort of all over the place, and for my next one (yes it wasnt too bad of an experience) I will put it together differently as I found that some of the Overlocker stitching shows.

I altered a button up collared shirt pattern for the shape and went from there... Using some uncoated twill for the outer layer, some turtle print cotton for the inside and theres a hidden layer of flannel that I picked up in the remnant bin to keep him nice and warm.

I ummed and ahhhed about what to use for buttons, but am pleased with my end decision to use jean studs as they look ace. :)

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!!

Amy this is adorable! I also love the turtles - great use of them on the back as well. Very clever.
